WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15

Tax Help Montana

Tax Help Montana, a volunteer income tax assistance and tax counseling program for the elderly, will offer free tax preparation and filing services to seniors and low/moderate income families and individuals on March 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Choteau/Teton Public Library, 17 Main Ave. N.

Teton County Refuse

The Teton County Refuse District 1 Board will meet on March 15 at 7 p.m. at the Dutton Town Hall. For agenda information, contact David Klette at 406-450-1803.

THURSDAY, MARCH 16

County Commissioners

The Teton County Commissioners will meet March 16 at 10 a.m. in the conference room on the main floor of the county courthouse. The agenda items include: appointment of Rock Wankel of Choteau to the Tax Ap peal Board; approval of resolutions lifting an agriculture covenant on the Doug Ferris property and granting the Karhu Koski Distillery a tax abatement (both of these items have already been approved but need resolutions on record); approval of a 3 Rivers Communications road encroachment permit application; award of cemetery sexton contracts; review of county health insurance premiums for the 2023-24 fiscal year, starting July 1; approval of a budget amendment to accept $457,312.83 from the federal Local Assistance and Tribal Consistency Fund and an increase of $15,514 in this fiscal year’s Alcohol Rehabilitation Fund; consider a request from the Teton County Fire Fee Service Area Board to increase the fee for fiscal year 2023-24; continuation of a public hearing on the change of the Power and Fairfield voting precinct boundaries to comply with the new state House District map.

Bynum Civic Club

The Bynum Civic Club will meet March 16 at 6 p.m. at JD’s Wildlife Sanctuary.

Search and Rescue Group

Library Board

The Joint City-County Library Board will meet March 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Dutton/Teton Public Library. The agenda includes: approval of the meeting minutes from Feb. 23, review the county treasurer’s monthly budget report, consider steps for planning for the library system’s 2023-24 budget, reports from library board members, reports from library directors and setting the next meeting.

Choteau Lions Club

The Choteau Lions Club will meet March 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room at John Henry’s restaurant.

DB School Board

The Dutton/Brady School Board will meet March 20 at 7 p.m. in the Dutton Public Schools library. For agenda information, contact Clerk Betty Brumwell at 406-476-3201.

Fairfield School Board

TUESDAY, MARCH 21

Drivers Exam Station

The Choteau Driver Exam Station will be open March 21 from 9:30 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. at the Teton County Courthouse. Appointments are needed; call or go online to www.dojmt.gov/driving.

Veterans Affairs Office

A Montana Veterans Affairs officer will be in Choteau March 21 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the Courthouse Annex conference room. For further assistance, contact the office at 406-452-2265.

Choteau City Council

The Choteau City Council will meet March 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the city office. Tentative agenda includes: approval of minutes of the previous meeting; approval of council member requests to be out of state; review of reports on law enforcement, city court, public works, finances and mayor and council.
