The Conrad-Choteau High School cooperative softball team will compete in the Great Falls Central Catholic tournament in Great Falls on Friday and Saturday, April 23-24.
The team is 5-4-1 in overall play and 2-3 in the conference following a triangular held April 17 at home. At the triangular, they defeated Shelby 16-1 and lost to Cut Bank 15-7.
In the game against Shelby, Ella Stott picked up the win, throwing a complete game and striking out four. At the plate Stott was 3-3 with a triple, two RBIs and scored three runs. Katie Stokes went 2-2 with a triple, a home run, 4 RBIs and scored three runs. Lauren Phillipps went 2-3 with two doubles.
Facing off with Cut Bank, the Lady Wolves jumped out to a 9-1 lead early, but Conrad-Choteau fought back to close the gap to 9-7 going into the last inning. Cut Bank broke the game open with six runs in the top of the seventh.
Maggie Bender took the loss in the circle. Phillipps hit a towering home run in the first inning and scored three runs. Kaylyn Gallagher went 2-3 with two RBIs and a double.
