Volunteers are needed to serve as judges and hospitality room workers at the fourth annual Simms-Power-Dutton/Brady speech, drama and debate meet on Jan. 12 at Power and Dutton/Brady schools.
More than 150 students representing at least 15 Class A-B-C schools from around the state are expected to compete. The competition consists of debate, drama and speech events. Volunteer judges can be any person willing to listen to students or groups speak, perform or debate and offer helpful advice to them for their continued success. No experience is necessary and the schools will provide training sessions before the meet.
There are four different rounds of competition for each of the 14 speech and drama events and more rounds for debate located at both schools, so there are many opportunities to observe some incredible talent. Judges are needed for one or more rounds and anyone who wants to help with the hospitality room is also welcome.
