A huge week of baseball is in the books for the Tri-County Cardinals. The boys played in eight games with the first couple taking place at home in Conrad before a trip up north to Canada.

The Cardinals opened up their first game day of the week with a doubleheader against Medicine Hat. Tri-County won both games by scores of 11-5 and 6-3. The Cardinals racked up 16 hits against the Knights as they continued to win ball games. On July 9 the Cards played against Vauxhall in another double header, but they were unable to win either game. Game 1 was a battle and the Cardinals hung around the whole game and put up three runs late, but could not quite come back and win. The second game was a struggle, as the hitters for the Spurs got hot and racked up the runs.

The Cardinals played against the Bitterroot Red Sox on July 10. The game was back and forth throughout, until the Red Sox scored seven runs in the final inning to close out the Cards. After a couple of tough losses, the boys were ready to bounce back.

They did just that as they were able to string three consecutive victories over Lethbridge, Spokane and Missoula teams.

Some fantastic individual performances paved the way for these big wins. Brinkley Evans had a 4/4 game with a triple and scored three runs, Jette Pruttis had a game where he pitched seven innings and allowed just three runs, and Carson Bitney had an outstanding close against Missoula as he came into the mound with two innings left, in a tie game and only gave up one hit and zero runs to secure a victory. The Cardinals scored many runs and did some great pitching as they got back into a groove with the District tournament looming this weekend.
