The Fairfield Junior Women’s Club is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat on Thursday, Oct. 31.
The Trunk-or-Treat will be held from 6-7 p.m. on the road between the Fairfield Town Park and Fairfield Community Hall. “This event has added something fun for the youngsters in Fairfield before and after they visit private homes on Halloween,” Sherlyn Lear, club member, said.
“Trunk-or-treat is a safe and convenient way for kids to trick-or-treat and perfect way for businesses not open the evening of Halloween or for rural home owners or those in town who don’t have many children come trick or treating to their house to share in the fun of Halloween,” she added.
“Businesses, organizations and individuals can decorate a table, car, truck, van, tent, etc.,” Lear said. “Put your mind to work and get creative. This is the third year of the event with it grown each year. The turnout was great and it was so much fun to see how excited the youngsters were to see the decorated ‘trunks.’”
The street will be blocked off starting at 5 p.m. Those participating are asked to be set up by 5:45 p.m. and provide their own treats or goodies to give the youngsters.
The Fairfield Junior Women’s Club, with help from Fairfield Lions Club, sponsors the event. Contact Lear for more information or to sign up for the Trunk-or-Treat. Registration is not required, but is appreciated so enough room is made for all participating.
