We are fortunate to live in a community where civic organizations and individual volunteers pull together every year to offer a free Thanksgiving feast for anyone and everyone.
The meal will be served at the Choteau Elementary School cafeteria on Nov. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you have no place to go for Thanksgiving, consider coming and eating at the cafeteria, where members of the Choteau Lions club, the Choteau Soroptimists, school cook Cathy Campbell and many others will be serving up a great, home-cooked feast.
This year’s menu will feature deep-fried turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing muffins, gravy, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, green and black olives, carrot and celery sticks, and apple and pumpkin pie.
Organizers of this meal do not want anyone to be left home alone on this holiday, when we as a country count our blessings. They also plan to deliver meals to anyone who is homebound. (Call Campbell at 590-8328 to request a home-meal delivery.) Anyone who wants to volunteer or to make a cash donation to help defray the costs of the meal can also contact Campbell.
We are deeply thankful for everyone who works so hard to put on this meal.
