Ranchers are searching for relief with grizzly bear numbers climbing and livestock predations being reported to the Livestock Loss board the highest since department was instituted in 2009.
Not being able to reduce the number of grizzly bears, the Marias River Livestock Association is partnering with the U.S.D.A. Wildlife Services and the Pondera Extention Office to provide the public a way to perhaps deter livestock losses due to large predators such as wolves and bears.
The groups will co-host a Predator Damage Management Workshop at the Pondera Shooting Sports Complex, 972 Granite Road, Conrad, on Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is an open meeting for the public with no pre-registration required.
