There were 29 Choteau High School music students who performed for comments and ratings at the State Music Festival May 4-5 in Helena.

“Overall, it was a very successful couple of days for students performing in 17 vocal and instrumental events,” Choteau music teacher Lorran Depner said.

The results are:

Piano solos/duets — superior: Rebekah Major, Elsah Bechtold/Ellie Lee; excellent: Ellie Lee and Amber Johnson.

Vocal solos — superior: Maggie King.

Vocal ensembles — superiors: vocal trio (Anna Jamison, Maggie King, Watson Snyder); CHS Women (Cassidy DeBruycker, Ranelle Garcia, Anna Jamison, King, Angel Minadeo, Faith Shepherd); excellent: vocal duet (King and Snyder); Honor Choir Singers (Destiny Buckman, Dakota Daley, Tony Daley, DeBruycker, Declan Fladstol, Jamison, King, Mason Sellers and Snyder); CHS Mens Ensemble (Jonathan Chalfon, Kyler Crabtree, D. Daley, T. Daley, Durocher, Pete Henderson, Zack Quillan, John Rappold, Sellers, Snyder, Keegan Thomas); Choteau Mixed Ensemble (D. Daley, DeBruycker, Henderson, Jamison, King, Quillan, Shepherd and Snyder).

Instrumental solo — superior: Caroline Roeder, flute; Kate Stott, flute; Hanna Antonsen, clarinet; excellent: Watson Snyder, violin; Amber Johnson, clarinet.

Instrumental ensemble — excellent: Antonsen and Bailey Deshner, clarinet duet.
